Palak Parents Scheme Information and Application Form

    Name of the scheme: - Plan of the foster parents


Eligibility Criteria: - Under this scheme all orphan children between the ages of 0 to 18 years living in Gujarat, who do not have surviving parents, will be eligible for the benefit. Children whose father has died and whose mother has remarried will have to provide a marriage certificate stating that the mother has remarried.


 

Assistance rate: - Rs. /, 000 / - (Three thousand rupees in number) will be paid monthly to foster parents or close relatives caring for orphans.



Income limit: - The annual income of the foster parents should be more than Rs. 5000 in rural areas and Rs. In urban, urban areas


Terms of the plan

    Benefits taken by foster parents should be placed in Anganwadi for children from to years of age and compulsory education should be given to children above 3 years of age. Assistance will be stopped if the child's study is stopped.


    ICDS (Integrated Child Development Scheme) Program Officer Certificate for Anganwadi going children and for school going children to submit school principal certificate by 15th July every year.


    A certified example of the death of a child's parent must be presented.


    Assistance will be stopped if the child's mother is remarried and the child goes to live with the mother.


    The sample application form can be downloaded from the department's website https://sje.gujarat.gov.in/dsd or is available free of cost from the nearest Children's Home / District Social Security Officer's Office / District Child Protection Officer's Office. If the application is approved, assistance will be available from the month of application.


    The scheme is to be implemented at the district level by the Superintendent of the District Children's House. In the district where the children's home is not functioning, the plan form will be accepted and further action will be taken by the district child protection unit. And the District Social Security Officer will be responsible for the payment.


    At each district level, the Sponsorship and Approval Committee (SFCAC) will review the recommendations and order eligible parents to pay assistance.


    Children who are benefiting from any other similar state or central scheme will not be eligible for this scheme.


    This amount has to be paid into the beneficiary's account through direct payment of check amount (CBT). Such foster parents or recognized close relatives i.e. the beneficiary has to open an account in his joint name with the child's name in the bank / post for a fee
